Wrathall's Photo Finishing, Prince Rupert

We received a postcard in 1975 from Prince Rupert, B.C., with a photo of Prince Rupert Harbour at sunset. On the other side was "Wrathall's Photo Finishing, P.O. Box 97, Prince Rupert". A photographer was active there around 1914, identified only as "Wrathall" in the B.C. government archives (link supplied by Dan Bastiaansen of B.C. in April 2004), where a number of large, high-quality photos by this person are available for viewing.

Bill Wrathall , who can be reached at bwrathall(at)shaw.ca, had these comments:
"That would be my Uncle Jack's store. Opened in the early 1900's by my grandfather William - it's his family tree I'm forwarding to you."
Wrathall's Photo Finishing business was created in Prince Rupert by William Wrathall (1884 - 1957). In Mar-Apr. 2004, Dan Bastiaansen of B.C., who can be reached at bastiaad(at)unbc.ca , had these comments:
I am a stamp collector and have received two covers (used envelopes) addressed to Wrathall's Photo Finishing (see list of scans below). I am very interested to add an image of the camera shop to the album pages that I am mounting these covers to. If you are further interested in this branch of the Wrathall's I can likely give you a connection. The fellow who gave me the covers said that it was his Uncle's shop. My friend was born and raised in Prince Rupert.

These covers in particular were sent from remote communities around Prince Rupert to the photoshop from some agent of the government (On Her Majesty's Service). It is interesting that the postmistress that worked at Oona River (the place where one cover was sent from in 1966) is still working there today. I think I may just write a letter to her as well, and possibly further research the who and why of the letter.

Many of the Prince Rupert Wrathalls were prolific photographers; there are many of their photos in the BC archives [see B.C. government archives link above and the information from David Mattison's site below] and I have also seen other photos by them.
Below are links to scans of the postcard mentioned above, as well as scans of envelopes mailed to Wrathall's Photo Finishing: In Feb. 2007, David Mattison's Camera Workers: The British Columbia Photographic Directory had information on the following individuals:
