Mount a smb share on Linux/Unix

To mount a samba share named myshare from a machine named mymachine on /home/acorn/mytarget try

mkdir /home/acorn/mytarget
sudo smbmount //mymachine/myshare /home/acorn/mytarget -o username=<user>,password=<passwd>

You may need

sudo apt-get install smbfs

Using smbclient to access windows share from linux machine

You need to know

• machine - name of the windows machine
• username - name you use to login to windows machine
• password - password you use to login to windows machine
• Workgroup - workgroup of windows machine
  You can find windows workgroup by typing 'nbtstat -n' in a command prompt (or cygwin shell) on the windows machine. Look for the 'Name' corresponding to 'Type' of 'GROUP'. The machine name is the name corresponding to type 'UNIQUE'

smbclient -L <machine> -U <username> -W <workgroup>

Also try simply:

smbclient -L <machine>

Works inside NVIDIA:

smbclient '\\<machine>\<dir>' -W nvidia.com

Once it is running use

   smb: \> get filename
   smb: \> help
   smb: \> quit
