[For Guitarists Only]

The Menagerie

This is most of the equipment that I used while recording the guitars for the Impulse tapes of 1981. The white Strat was just okay, but the '62 Les Paul (the SG-shaped thing) was a beauty. Hard-cores and old-timers may recall the Electro-Harmonix Memory Man and Hot Tubes pedals, the Maestro Phaser and the Dallas-Arbiter Fuzzfaces.

The Strat

I call this The Strat because it was my first Strat, and I had it longer than any guitar I'd ever owned. It was a '63, and served me very well indeed through Asgard, Squid, Songs, Mackenzie, Freeman & Hardy, and The Jim Fleming Band. This picture was taken in about 1977, while I was still with Freeman & Hardy. Note that I had dieted myself down to a twig at this time!

The Basement

This was the basement rehearsal studio in Hollywood that was used during the The Power project. Jamming away on the white Strat, in 1982.
