The Peninsula Community Fund

Calfornia Missions Interactive was made possible by a grant from the Peninsula Community Foundation. We sure enjoyed working with them. Here's more information about the grant that we received:

The Teachers' Fund

California Missions Interactive: An Internet Field Trip is one of the 1994 recipients of the Teachers' Fund grant.

The Teachers' Fund promotes school improvement at the classroom level by empowering teachers with the resources they need to teach more effectively and to create engaging learning environments for their students. The Peninsula Community Foundation established the Teachers' Fund because they believe that, to improve student achievement, we must enhance what happens in the most basic level of education--the classroom.

In 1993 the Teachers' Fund awarded 49 grants to teachers in schools throughout the Peninsula. These grants represent creative projects, both small and large, that span all curricular areas and often have an interdisciplinary focus. Many projects involve teams of teachers, parents, and local community organizations.

If you are an educator working on the San Francisco Peninsula between Daly City and Mountain View who would like to receive guidelines and application forms to apply for a Teachers' Fund grant, please contact the Peninsula Community Foundation and they will be happy to send you information.
