Team Scoring Possessions

Definition

The number of team possessions on which at least one point is scored.

Example

If a team scores one point on a free throw before the opponents take over, then that is one scoring possession. If a field goal is made, that is also a scoring possession. If a free throw is made, then the second is missed, but there is an offensive rebound and another field goal, that is also one scoring possession.
