We brought home Finn in the first week of January, 2003 --
all the way from Pennsylvania to San Francisco, California --
to join our family: Suzanne and Ted (smitten humans),
Gemma Mae (our Golden girl b. April 1997),
and Jasper (our old but still feisty tuxedoed cat).

Because his sire and dam are two exceptional Goldens,
I had high hopes for Finn as a "multi-purpose" golden!
Now, five years later, he has shown and pointed in the breed ring,
handled by my friend Christine Hsu of Tigana Goldens ,
while I have handled him to titles in obedience, rally, tracking, and field.
In the near future we plan to try agility
and are currently training in variable surface tracking.

I hope to eventually get Finn qualified as a therapy dog
so we can work with both him and our girl Gemma,
and in 2008 we will begin training to become a Search And Rescue
dog-handler team for the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Department.

But most importantly,
Finnegan is our second hiking companion and bed-hog,
another resident anti-depressant Golden goofball!
