From hbv@rawbw.com Wed Aug 3 23:04:43 2022 Date: Wed, 3 Aug 2022 23:04:39 -0700 (PDT) From: Vincent Ho To: "Gual, Wilfred, Public Defender" Cc: hbv@tsoft.com Subject: WEAPONS 1 INVENTORY Re:Docket No: 22-CR-002739 (fwd) Dear Mr. Gual, This is the list on the police field property receipt. They told me to sign, so I signed it. They did not let me know I could have sign for "Property Released on the Field". When asked why took something that is obviously NOT a firearm, such as the two air rifles, the officers said "They are dangerous". As for as I concern, those two items should have never been taken away, since dangerous is not part of a reason why it is taken away, but rather this is about searching firearms, not a Daisy. I had been accidentally hit by an air rifle before. It hurts, but it only caused brusing. There are many kitchen items that are much more dangerous.. When I first started to learn about guns, I was taught that antiques are ok. It must be made in 1898 or before, and then it must be obsolete. This also includes replica. Obsolete means ammo is no longer available, and cannot be made again. Any attempt to load with similar modern round will cause an explosion. Never ever fire an antique. If you try to fire a replica, you are playing Russian roulette. Since it needs no background check, or rather do not need it because they are antiques. ALL were purchased from antique faire, Ebay, costume fair, sports related stores. None of them required background checks. Cash (or credit card) and Carry. None of them were purchased from a gun store. Since I mostly shoot Olympic competition, Most of my guns are single shot. A vast minority have 5 shots as Olympic competition. Olympic guns are always one shot or 5 shot. I have never purchased a modern revolver in my life (ie, after 1898) as revolvers are 6 shots. Revolvers cannot be used in the Olympics since 1904. All Olympics gun uses either .22lr ammo round, or .177 pellet (air gun). That is as small as possible you can get for both tyoes. Obsolete: Ammo no longer exists, thus NOT LOADABLE. Any attempt to use modern ammo will lead to explosion. For example, the gallery guns uses a pre-cartridge ammo that has no powder in it, it is also neither rim fire nor center fire (after all, it has no powder in it) It is just a blank with a BB. They were literally used in a fair where if you successfully shoot a teddy bear with that gun, you won that teddy bear. Broken: Unrepairable worn down or/and serious damage, thus NOT functional, forever. All listed with the exception of the two Olympic air rifle are for decoration and conversation pieces. Photo: the digits of the name of a photo indicates its position on the field report. So 09.jpg is the 9th item listed on the report. 15-14-13-24-22-20 is the photo with item 15, 14, 13, 24, 22, 20 inside. Antique (made in 1898 or before) All OBSOLETE. 15> 1830 Caplock, Sauer and Sons. Broken (someone glued the wooden stock to the barrel). 14> 1890 Belgian single shot pistol. Broken (hinge worn out, Unable to close the gun chamber.) 12> 1860 English fairground gallery gun. 13> 1860 fairground gallery gun. Broken (trigger failure). 11> Revolver 1896 Smith and Wesson #62663 (sights) 10> 1860 Smith and Wesson Nr.1 Revolver. Broken (cylinder worn out) 9> 1882 Swiss Army Revolver.. Broken (Hammer was sawed off) 16> 1860 fairground gallery gun. Broken (Damaged hinge, impossible to pull the trigger, impossible to open, Internal damage, etc) Reproduction You should never fire a replica. Looks the same, but constructed with different material. For example, tin barrel instead of the Steel of the real ones. Any attempt to fire can lead to explosion. Caliber unknown, never attempted to fire (dangerous), bought in costume faire: 06. 1550 Japanese Matchlock replica. For costuming only. 07. 1650 Flintlock replica. For costuming only. A friend of mine bought dozens of these because she runs a costume shop in one single order. Everyone wants to be a pirate on Halloween. She ordered them from companies that made these replica, and of course, there is no need to have background check. 08. 1830 caplock single shot replica. For costuming only Olympic Air Rifle. Designed for Kids in junior clubs or junior Olympic kids Caliber .177 and for 10m distance only. 18. Olympic Air rifle (10m distance,.177 pellet) Beeman Feinwerkbau 700 single shot. 19. Paralympics Air rifle (10m distance .177 pellet) Steyr Biathlon .177 pellet. Sentimental because a retired paralympian gave it to me. It is the one with a pink harness in the photo. Ski-shoot 5 targets-ski-shoot 5 targets-ski. He retired in 2012 after Sochi, wanted to switch gears to Triathalon (no idea how he could do that having just one arm, maybe because he was a marine?) or for kids: Run-shoot 5 targets-run-shoot 5 targets-run Field report will be in the website too. == CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This communication and any documents, files or previous e-mail messages attached to it, constitute an electronic communication within the scope of the Electronic Communication Privacy Act, 18 USCA 2510.
