Born Oct 30 1696, Piscataway, New Jersey.3,4  

Soon after the death of his father, probably about 1717, Joseph moved from the east end of Long Island2 (or directly from Piscataway, New Jersey)3 to the Passaic Valley, New Jersey, where he owned part of lot no. 39 of the Elizabethtown lots, in Stony Hill Valley.2,3  

He married Sarah Badgley2,3,5 [Sarah Badgly1,3], about 17212,3,5.  Sarah, daughter of Anthony + Elizabeth Badgley, was born about 1699.5  

Six children (all born in New Providence, Union County, New Jersey):3,5

Joseph Doty, born probably 1722; died young. 2
George Doty, born probably 1723. 1,2
John Doty, born probably 1725. 1,2
Elizabeth Doty, born probably 1728. 1,2
Anthony Doty, born probably about 1730; married -- (child: William Parsons Doty; married Peggy Badgley). 2
Sarah Doty, born probably about 1785; married William Carl.

Joseph Doty died Sep 10 1768.2,3  

Sarah died about 1785.3
