Born about 1637, Plymouth, Massachusetts Colony.2  

He married Sarah Faunce, Feb 25 1663.1,2  [Feb 25 1662/3 by the old calendar].  Sarah, daughter of John Faunce & Patience Morton, was born about 1645, Plymouth, Massachusetts Colony.2  

Sarah's father, John Faunce, had come to Plymouth in 1623 on the ship "Ann".  He had married Patience Morton, daughter of George Morton & Julian Carpenter, in 1634.2

Edward Doty, born May 20 1664; died between 1690 and 1696; no issue.
Sarah Doty, born Jun 9 1666, Plymouth; married James Warren, Jun 21 1687.
John Doty, born Aug 4 1668; drowned with his father in Plymouth harbor, Feb 8 1690.
Mary Doty, twin, born Jul 9 1671, Plymouth; married Joseph Allyn, Dec 21 1699, Plymouth.
Martha Doty, twin, born Jul 9 1671, Plymouth; married Thomas Morton (her cousin), Dec 23 1696, Plymouth.
Elizabeth Doty, born Dec 22 1673; married Tobias Oakman.
Patience Doty, born Jul 7 1676.
Mercy Doty, born Feb 6 1678; died Nov 30 1682.
Samuel Doty, born May 17 1681; died Jan 26 1750; married Anne Buckingham, Dec 3 1706, Saybrook, Connecticut.
Mercy Doty, born Sep 23 1684, Plymouth; married Daniel Pratt, Nov 13 1713, Saybrook, Connecticut.
Benjamin Doty, born May 30 1689.

Edward Doty was a seaman by profession.2  He received a double portion of the estate in his father's will.2  

Between 1662 and 1668 Edward received several grants of land.2  

Edward Doty died Feb 8 1690, Plymouth harbor, Massachusetts Colony.2  

In a storm on the 8th of Feb 1689/90 [1690 in the modern calendar], Edward Dotey, along with his son John, and an Elkanah Watson, were drowned in Plymouth harbor, perhaps by the wreck of their vessel in attempting to enter the harbor.2
