Hannah's obituary was published in "The Portsmouth Daily Times" (Portsmouth, Ohio) on Tuesday, October 24, 1911:10
Hughes
Mrs. Hannah Hughes, a beloved and esteemed resident of Haverhill was called to her reward at eight o'clock Monday morning, her demise being mostly due to infirmities of advanced age. Mrs. Hughes was a kind and highly respected lady. She had reached the ripe old age of seventy years.
The following children mourn the death of a loving and affectionate mother: Mrs. Smith Grant of Haverhill, Mrs. George Feele of Haverhill, Thos. Hughes of Jackson O., James and David at home and John in Canada. Besides the children, one brother, Oliver Doty of Hanging Rock and one sister, Mrs. Mary Wallstein of Texas, who has been at her sister's bedside for some time. Hon. J. C. Clutts of Wellston is a nephew of the deceased.
As yet the arrangements for the funeral have not been made.
