Mrs. Julia Doty Sunday's Irontonian had the following account of the death of Mrs. Julia Doty, who was well known in this city:
Mrs. Julia Doty, 77, died Saturday evening at the home of her son, Thos. W. Doty, at 1308 south Fifth street, after an illness with pneumonia of only three days' duration. Mrs. Doty was an estimable lady whose passing will be mourned by many friends. She was the widow of the Thos. Doty who was killed in an accident near Ohio Furnace some years ago.
She was a faithful Christian lady, a fond and devoted mother and a loyal true friend. She was a member of the Haverhill M. E. church and had even maintained a lively interest in church activities.
Mrs. Doty had been living in Ironton, but a short time, but her family connections were such that she had been known throughout Scioto and Lawrence counties for the past fifty years.
She is survived by four sons as follows: Thos. W., with whom she made her home; Lewis, of Haverhill; Alfred, of Ashland, Ky., and Oliver of Portsmouth.
