Born Mar 14 1811, Pittsylvania County, Virginia.2,7,8,9  Born in the northern part of Pittsylvania County or the southern part of Bedford County.9  

He married Rebecca Pickeral2,5 [Rebecca Pickerall6], Oct 29 18332,5, Pittsylvania County, Virginia2,5.  Rebecca, daughter of Richard Pickeral & Elizabeth "Betsy" Dalton, was born about 1815, Virginia.2,10,11  

Willis and family moved from Virginia and settled in Heckley [sic - Hecla], Lawrence County, Ohio,1 moving sometime between 1846 and 1849, apparently passing through (or stopping in) Tennessee.2
