On Sep 12 1918 Leo Joseph Schaub, age 40, registered for the World War I draft at 1425 Chapline Street, Wheeling, West Virginia.  He declared he was born February 19 1878, and was then residing at 142 16th St. in Wheeling, a self-employed baker at the same address.  He declared his nearest relative was his wife, Mrs. Loeta [sic] Schaub of the same address.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, blue eyes, light gray hair.8

Loretta Barbara Foster died Aug 19 1934, Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia; age 51y 2m 9d.1,2,6  

In 1942 Leo Joseph Schaub, age 64, registered for the World War II draft in Ohio County, West Virginia.  He declared he was born Feb. 19 1878 in Alsace-Lorraine, and was then residing at 192 14th St., Wheeling, West Virginia, retired.  He declared his relative/contact was Herman Neidert of the same address.5  

Leo died Jul 20 1943, at his home, 188 14th St., Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia; age 65y 5m 1d.6,11
