Hayesville - Florence E. " Flo" Hinshaw, 81, of Hayesville, died Monday, March 13, 2006, in the Clay County Care Center in Hayesville.

Flo was a native of Excelsiar Springs, Mo., and had resided in Orlando, Fla., before moving to Marble in 1979, then moving to Hayesville in 1990.  She was a retired legal secretary.

She was the daughter of the late Lester J. and Zona Hutchings Smith and was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. "Bud" Hinshaw, who died in 1988, and two sisters, Naomi P. Irons and Peggy May Scobee.

Flo loved golf.  She was a familiar face at Chatuge Shores Golf Course, where she worked and played golf for many years.  She was very active in the Ladies' Golf Association, doing several jobs and did them well.  She was entrusted to make the arrangements and submit money for out-of-town play for the ladies.

If you knew Flo, you would receive cards for all occasions.  She was so thoughtful.  Flo was a wonderful friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Flo is survived by one brother, Willis S. Smith of Williamsville, Ill.; five nieces, Sharon Kantor of Jacksonville, Fla., Martha Mutzbauer of Grand Junction, Colo., Renee Waterfield of Orrick, Mo., Cheryl Block of Springfield, Ill., and Linda Dice of Lawson, Mo.; and one nephew, Marvin Scobee of Lawson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
