Jack's obituary was published in the "Midland Reporter-Telegram" (Midland, Texas) on February 9, 2010:³

Jack L. Paxton Jack L. Paxton, of Midland, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010.  He was born February 1, 1923 to Carlie A. Paxton and Bessie May Mills Paxton in Sedan, Kansas.  Jack was reared and educated in Sacramento, New Mexico and Roswell, New Mexico.  From January 1942 until November, 1945 he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy (Sea Bees).  On December 11, 1944 he married Ida Hinshaw in Oakland, California.  Prior to his retirement, Jack worked in construction, and later as a welder in his own shop.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and an older brother, Harold.  Jack is survived by his wife, Ida C. Paxton of Midland, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Mike Combs, and granddaughter, Miranda Combs, all of Sherman, TX; daughter, Lisa Kinsey of Flower Mound, TX; and sister, Helen Herbert of Ruiduso, NM.  Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Thomas and Reverend Robert Kirk officiating.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Billy Nall, Brandon Nall, Dale Binnion, Mike Combs, Kip Boyd, and Dale Mansfield.  Memorials may be directed to St. Paul United Methodist Church Benevolence Fund, 4501 Thomason, Midland, Texas 79703 or Hospice of Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland, Texas 79702.  Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.  Condolences may be offered at www.ellisfunerals.com.
