A marriage bond was recorded for James C. Hinshaw & Elizabeth Reece on Oct 29 1836, Surry County, North Carolina.12  

In the Deep Creek Friends Cemetery in Yadkin County, N.C., is the tombstone of Elizabeth Hinshaw, died April 12, 1838 (no age or other information shown).13  It is believed that this is the tombstone of Elizabeth Reece Hinshaw.  

He then married Martha Hunter, before 1850.4,10  Martha was born about 1813, North Carolina.4
