Born Feb 20 1817^1,3,6,9 [about 1818⁴, about 1812⁵, about 1814⁷], Yadkin County, North Carolina^1,3,6,9.  

She married George Manson Norman, about 1840.^1,10,11,12  George was born Jan 6 1820, Surry County, North Carolina.^4,11,12

On 16 Oct 1861 George enlisted as a private in the Confederate Army in Yadkin County, North Carolina.  On Dec 31 1861 he was assigned to Company B, 38th North Carolina Infantry.  Mustered-out Jun 21 1862.^10,27  

In the early 1860s the family moved to Jackson County, North Carolina.¹¹  

George died Mar 15 1863, Willits-Ochre Hill, Jackson County, North Carolina; buried Row 2 Plot 4, Norman Family Cemetery, Eclipse Drive, Willits-Ochre Hill, near Sylva, Jackson County, North Carolina.¹²  George was the first person to be buried on the Norman family land, in what became the Norman Family Cemetery.¹²  

Louisa and children were shown in the 1870 census (Sep 19 1870), Scotts Creek Township, Jackson County, North Carolina:⁶

Louisa Hinshaw died Sep 2 1893, Jackson County, North Carolina; buried Row 2 Plot 5, Norman Family Cemetery, Eclipse Drive, Willits-Ochre Hill, near Sylva, Jackson County, North Carolina.^3,28  

After her brother W.P. Hinshaw died in 1900, Louisa's four children inherited $1,295.03 in cash and 87 1/2 acres of land from the estate.²
