Final rites for Lola A. Cottingham, 86, formerly of 230 Third St., Sheridan, have been set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan.
Mrs. Cottingham died this morning at Riverview Hospital. She was born and reared in Hamilton County, the daughter of William A. and Flora (Ressler) Hinshaw. In 1913 she married C. Fletcher Cottingham and he survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Betty) Fesmire, Perry ,Ga.; Mrs.Jack (Drucilla) Jones, Warner Robbing, Ga.; Mrs. Donald (Roberta) Mendenhall and Mrs. James (Judy) Moore, both of Sheridan; two sisters, Mrs. Perry Harvey and Mrs. Horace Kirkman, both of Westfield; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the OES, both in Sheridan, and the Symposium Club, also in Sheridan.

Services for C. Fletcher Cottingham, formerly of 203 W. 3rd St. Sheridan, will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan. He died Monday at the Higgins Rest Home in Sheridan. He was 85.
Born in Noblesville on Jan. 28, 1891, he was the son of Clarence A. and Ella Cayler Cottingham.
In 1913 he married Lola Hinshaw who died on Aug. 3, 1976.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Harold Fesmire, Perry Ga.; Mrs. Jack Jones, Warner Robins, Ga; Mrs. Donald Mendenhall and Mrs. James Moore, both of Sheridan; a sister, Mrs. Ernest Carter and a brother, Lewis Cottingham, both of Noblesville; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Cottingham was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sheridan, the Sheridan Masonic Lodge and the Sheridan Rotary.
At one time, he owned the Cottingham Battery Shop in Sheridan. In 1935, he and Vern McDonald operated the Sheridan Motor Company which they sold to Foxworthy Ford in 1955. Cottingham also operated a used car lot for a few years.
