Hinshaw of Liberty.  He was recorded as 5'10" tall, 175 lbs., brown eyes, black hair, light complexion.6

Hinshaw Funeral

Funeral for J. Nolon Hinshaw of 2507 Fairway Drive, who died Wednesday, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  A native of Alamance County, he was the owner and operator of Piedmont Barber Shop and of Bus Station Barber Shop, a member of Alamance Presbyterian Church - and elder emertius - and a past president of the North Carolina Master Barber's Association.  

Surviving are wife LaVerne S. Hinshaw; son, Kenneth N. Hinshaw of Greensboro; daughter. Mrs. Betsi H. Sossoman of Hot Springs, Ark.; brothers, Elmer B. [sic] Hinshaw of Liberty, Rayborn F. Hinshaw of Greensboro; sister, Miss Ruby F. Hinshaw of Greensboro; two granddaughters.  

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today.  

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Greensboro 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27405.

In 2004-2010 Ada was living in Richmond, Texas.12

LaVerne Smith Hinshaw was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 12, 2016.  She passed peacefully at Grace Care Center in Katy, Texas with family at her side.  

She was born July 13, 1920 to the late Lacy W. Smith Sr. and Maude Montgomery Smith in Greensboro, North Carolina.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John Nolon Hinshaw, and brother Lacy W. Smith, Jr.  She is survived by her son, Kenneth Nolon Hinshaw (Teresa), and her daughter, Betsi Hinshaw Sossaman (Edward).  She has three grandchildren, Kristen Sossaman, Emily Carapella, and Jason Hinshaw, and two great-grandsons.  

LaVerne was a graduate of Montreat College.  She was a long time member of Guilford Park Presbyterian Church, and church choir.  Blessed with a beautiful soprano voice, she was a long time member of the Greensboro Oratorio Society.  LaVerne was a loving mother and wife, and her devotion to her faith was seen in her many acts of selfless caregiving to others.  

The family will greet friends at the Forbis & Dick funeral home on N. Elm St from 7:00-8:30 p.m. on March 16, 2016.  Funeral services will be held at Forbis and Dick Chapel, at 2 p.m. on March 17, 2016, followed by interment in the family plot at Bethel Presbyterian Church cemetery in McLeansville, NC.  

Memorial donations may be made to Guilford Park Presbyterian Church at 2100 Fernwood Dr. Greensboro, NC 27408, and Vantage Hospice at 21720 Kingsland Blvd Ste. 301, Katy, TX 77450.
