Edith Gray Hinshaw Lineberry LINEBERRY EAST BEND - Edith Gray Hinshaw Lineberry, 90, of 3221 Smithtown Road, departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at Willowbrook Health Care to her heavenly home. She was born in Yadkin County on Aug. 17, 1917, to the late Edgar G. and Ethel Taylor Hinshaw. She graduated from East Bend High School in 1936. She was married to Monroe D. Lineberry, son of the late Early D. and Addie Crews Lineberry, on Dec. 4, 1937. She was a homemaker, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Edith enjoyed working in her yard and her beautiful flowers, often sharing them with others. She was a member of New Home United Methodist Church and a faithful member until her health failed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years in 1997; four sisters, Dora Francis Hinshaw, Margaret Tuttle, Peggy Driver and Judy Matthews; and a very special friend, Ressie Taylor. Surviving are three sons and a daughter; Dan (Sue) of Kernersville, Phil (Brenda) of East Bend, Steve (Gail) of Hamptonville and Beth (Ernie) Holcomb of Yadkinville; three grandchildren, Devin (Jodi) Lineberry, Mitch (Meia) Lineberry and Erin Holcomb; four great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Logan, Haili and Heather Lineberry; a sister, Blanche Williams; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; sisters-in-law, Elsie Lineberry and Goldie Starling; brother-in-law, Grant Tuttle; and a special friend, Mary Steelman. A memorial service will be conducted at New Home Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, with the Rev. Patty Choplin officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 26, at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend. Memorials may be made to New Home Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Nancy Norman, 3904 Siloam Road, East Bend, NC 27018 or Mountain Valley Health Hospice Care, 208 North Jackson St., Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Willowbrook Health Care, Mountain Valley Hospice, her wonderful neighbors, and many friends and relatives who always took time to visit her. She loved all of you. Huff Funeral Home in East Bend is serving the Lineberry family.
