Marler Ray Driver

DRIVER YADKINVILLE - Mr. Marler Ray Driver, 75, passed away Friday, May 18, 2007, at his home.  Mr. Driver was born April 8, 1932, in Yadkin County to the late John and Nellie Childress Driver.  He retired from Western Electric with 22 years of service and Unifi with 19 years as a supervisor.  He was a veteran of the Korean War.  Mr. Driver served as a commissioner of the Town of Yadkinville.  He was also a member of the Yadkinville High School Journal Sentinel Championship team of 1950.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Peggy Hinshaw Driver; and daughter Doralu "Dody" Driver.  Surviving are his daughter, Marty; son-in-law Tom Fagerli; granddaughter Rae Benton; brother Grady (Coralee) Driver; sister Mary (Ronnie) Reavis; and several nieces and nephews.  His funeral service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville, with the Rev. Scott Osterberg and the Rev. Lynn Faw officiating.  Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Garden.  The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 20, before the service at the funeral home in Yadkinville.  The family would like to express their appreciation to all the neighbors at Eaton Place, the employees of the Town of Yadkinville, Mountain Valley Hospice and his special friend, J.E. Southard.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yadkin Home Place, P.O. Box 1723, Yadkinville, NC 27055.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Driver family.
