During World War II Glendon served as a sergent in the U.S. Marine Corps.8  

He married Jean Saloma Wickerham, Jul 4 1946.4  Jean, daughter of John Peter Wickerham & Nona Belle Hill, was born Jul 29 1915, Peru, Indiana.3,4,9  

Jean had been previously married to Francis Edwards, Feb 16 1939, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana10 (it is unknown what became of her first marriage).  During World War II Jean had served in the U.S. Navy.8  

In 1993 Glendon was living at 1411 Keller Hill Rd., Mooresville, Indiana.11  In 1994-2002 Glendon was living at 105 Charmil Dr., Mooresville, Indiana.11

Glendon Reeves Hinshaw, 83, Mooresville, died Dec. 28.  He was postmaster 21 years for the Mooresville Post Office, retiring in 1982.  Mr. Hinshaw was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and was past state commander and past Indiana District 7 commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge, American Legion and First Christian Church, all in Mooresville.  

Memorial contributions: Richard L. Roudebush Regional Veterans Affairs Medical Center for homeless veterans.  

Services: 10 a.m. Dec. 31 in Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 30.  Burial: White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.  

Survivors: wife Jean Saloma Wickerham Hinshaw; daughter Patti Jean Smith; a grandchild.

Jean Saloma (Wickerham) Hinshaw, 90, Mooresville, died Nov. 26, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove.  

The daughter of the late John Peter and Nona Belle (Hill) Wickerham, she was born July 29, 1915, in Peru, Ind.  She was the widow of Glendon Reeves Hinshaw, whom she married July 4, 1946.  He died Dec. 28, 2002.  

Hinshaw was a clerk with the Indiana Employment Security Division for five years and had been a receptionist in the Mooresville offices of Robert VanBokkelan MD, Barnard Karpel MD and Travis Bauer DDS.  

She was a member and past deacon of the First Christian Church in Mooresville, where she was also past president of the Christian Women’s Fellowship.  She was a member of Tri-Kappa Sorority and was three time past president of Mooresville VFW Post 111 Ladies Auxiliary; past District 7 president of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and past state president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  

She was a World War II Navy veteran, serving as a naval communication intelligence specialist.  

Other survivors include a daughter, Patti Jean Smith, Mooresville; grandson, Robin Wayne Smith, Mooresville, and granddaughter, Leah Frost, and four great-grandchildren.  

A daughter, Judy Elizabeth Hinshaw, and a brother, Gration P. Wickerham, also preceded her in death.  

The service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel in Mooresville.  The Rev. Kelly Whitehurst will officiate.  Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.  

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel in Mooresville.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Homeless Veterans, in care of Richard L. Roudebush Regional VA Medical Center, 1481 West 10th St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.

A funeral services will be conducted by Rev.Kelly Whitehurst at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 30, 2005 in Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, Indiana.  Friends may call 4-8 P.M., Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the funeral chapel.  The State VFW Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. during visitation.  Burial with Military Gravesite Rites will follow the funeral service in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, Indiana.  The family has suggested memorial contributions may made in Jean's name to Homeless Veterans, c/o Richard Roudebush Regional VA Medical Center, 1481 West 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
