Marjorie Fern Schutz, born June 18, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed into the arms of her Savior on August 23, 2015. Her great joys in life were simple and clear. It was her joy to serve the Lord Jesus Christ with clarity and grace until the day of her death. It was her great joy to love her family, which she did fully to the third generation. Marge is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Gary) Leyendecker; daughter-in-law Christine Schutz; grandchildren Rachel (Jeff) Rachoy, Keith (Bridgette) Leyendecker, Seth (Tammie) Leyendecker, Courtney (Ian) Overway; her great-grandchildren are Olivia and Cohen Rachoy; Madisyn, Dylan and Owen Leyendecker; Brody and Ella Leyendecker; and Asher Overway. We will all miss her greatly, but rejoice in her release into glory to meet her Savior and re-unite with her parents, her siblings, her beloved husband, Rev. Vernon Schutz, and her son, Stephen. In addition, she rejoices with triplets who were born into eternity the same day they were born into the world.
A time for relatives and friends to visit with Marjorie's family will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, August 25, at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 84th St. SW. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Wednesday at Rush Creek Bible Church, 2334 76th St. SW in Byron Center. Rev. Gary Leyendecker and Rev. John Spooner will officiate. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to Rush Creek Bible Church or to Grace Bible College (pastoral student scholarships). The family welcomes memories and messages in their guestbook online at www.cookcares.com.
