Jesse Frank Hinshaw Jr.
Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth County on March 16, 1949, to Jesse Frank Hinshaw Sr. and June Taylor Hinshaw of Boonville. He was a faithful member of Mount Carmel Friends Meeting. Mr. Hinshaw was the class president of the last graduating class of East Bend High School. He retired as a pressman for the Winston-Salem Journal after 28 years of service and was most recently a substitute teacher at the Yadkin Success Academy. He loved his family, his farming, history, reading, learning and was very active in his church. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn Speer Hinshaw of the home, two sons, Frank Royal (Rebecca) Hinshaw and Evan Wayne Hinshaw; a granddaughter, Abigail Virginia Hinshaw; a brother, Kim (Joyce) Hinshaw, all of East Bend, and many friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at Mount Carmel Friends Meeting, with the Rev. Jeff Farmer and the Rev. Don Pruett officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 before the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 10, at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Mount Carmel Friends Building Fund, c/o Gray Gentry, 1221 Village Drive, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
