Born Feb 9 1916, Pennsylvania.5,6,7,8,9,10,11  (Feb - 1915).12  

Chester was shown in the 1940 census (Apr 8 1940), living in the household of sister Elizabeth, 425 Stanton, Akron, Summit County, Ohio:11

Henshaw, Chester, brother-in-law, age 24, born in Pennsylvania; completed 4 years of high school; on Apr 1 1935 was living in Pennsylvania; single; occupation: coal miner, coal mines; worked 35 weeks in 1939; $665 wages in 1939.

On Apr 7 1941 Chester Henshaw, born 1916 in Pennsylvania, then a resident of Summit County, Ohio, enlisted at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio as a private in the U.S. Army Field Artillery.  He declared he had 4 years of high school, and was single, without dependents.  He was recorded as 71" tall, 155 lbs.13  

He married Helen Hamilton.1,3,4  

He then married Zola May Yancey14 [Zola May Hinds14].  Zola, daughter of - Yancey & - Craig, was born Jun 12 1914, Thayer County, Nebraska.6,7,8,9,14  Zola May had been previously married to Walter Franklin Hinds.14  

Chester was a tallyman in the lumber industry.5  

Chester Henshaw died Jul 18 1971, at home, Willows, Glenn County, California; buried South-East 1st Addition, Lower Lake Cemetery, 9040 Lake Street, Lower Lake, Lake County, California.5,6,7,8,9  

Zola died Dec 27 1991, Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California; buried South-East 1st Addition, Lower Lake Cemetery, 9040 Lake Street, Lower Lake, Lake County, California.6,7,8,9,14  

Zola May's obituary was published as follows:14,15

HENSHAW, ZOLA MAY -- Died in Santa Rosa, December 27, 1991.  Dearly beloved wife of the late Walter Franklin Hinds and the late Chester Henshaw; beloved mother of Shirley Burr of Federal Way, WA; Bernice Adams of Delhi, CA; Merl Franklin Hinds of Boise, Idaho; Freddy Byman of Santa Rosa, CA; William Hinds of Wichita, KS; Claude Hinds of Phoenix, AZ; Hallie Kissel of Kent, WA; Zola Ann Henshaw of Auburn, WA; Mike Henshaw of Tuscon, AZ; David Henshaw, Nancy Henshaw, and Denny Henshaw all of Carson City, NV; and the late Eddie Henshaw; dear sister of Fay Allison of Howe, OK; Lynn Yancey of Chico, CA, and the late Merl Yancey, Louis Yancey and Dennis Yancey; also survived by 26 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her two husbands, 2 grandchildren, and 1 step-child.  A native of Thayer County, Nebraska. Age 77 years.  Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday, December 31, 1991 at 11:00 a.m. at the Daniels Chapel of the Roses with Reverend Howard Daulton officiating.  Interment, Lower Lake Cemetery.  If desired, donation in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Sonoma County, CA.
