Born Dec 19 1833, Cherry Grove MM, Randolph County, Indiana.1,4,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13  

He married Eunice Smith, 1-15-1852, Cherry Grove MM, Randolph County, Indiana.1,2,8,9  Eunice, daughter of James + Hannah Smith, was born Feb 6 1831, North Carolina.1,13,14  

At Cherry Grove MM on 4-8-1854, Tilnias & wife Eunice & son Nathan Lindley were granted a certificate to White River MM.1  

At White River MM on 5-6-1854, Tilnias & Eunice & son Nathan were received on a certificate from Cherry Grove MM.1  

At White River MM on 1-3-1857, Tilnias, Jericho meeting, was complained of for attending a marriage contrary to discipline of a member; "2-7-1857 offense acknowledged".1  

At White River MM on 2-6-1858, Tilnias & wife Eunice and children Nathan, Lindley [sic], James Colwell, William Henry & Ira [sic] were granted a certificate to Cherry Grove MM.1  

At Cherry Grove MM on 4-10-1858, Tilnias & wife Eunice & children Nathan Lindley, James Colwell, & William Henry Ira were received on a certificate from White River MM.1  

It appears as though Eunice probably died between 1858 and 1860, as the 1860 census shows Tilnias with sons Nathan and James living in the household of Tilnias' father, Nathan Hinshaw of Washington Township, Randolph County, Indiana:8,15

Nathan L Hinshaw, age 8, born in Indiana; "orphan"; attended school.
James C Hinshaw, age 5, born in Indiana; "orphan".

He then married Sarah Roseanna Dervage2 [Sarah Derevage16, Sarah R. Davis17], Sep 28 18612, Randolph County, Indiana2.  Sarah, daughter of Peter Dervage & Hannah Mann, was born Feb 17 1827.2,16  Sarah had previously married Jan 28 1845 to Uriah Davis2,16 and had a daughter Mary Jane Davis, born c1853.2,3  (See also: Hannah Ann Hinshaw #11129, who was probably an additional child of Sarah's previous marriage to Uriah Davis).18  

At Cherry Grove MM on 1-11-1862, Tilnias, Lynn meeting, was reported married contrary to discipline; "2-8-1862 disowned".1  

Tilnias and family were shown in the 1870 census (Aug 18 1870), Greensfork Township, Randolph County, Indiana:3

Hinshaw, Sarah, age 43, born in Indiana; keeps house.
Davis, M.J., female, age 17, born in Indiana; attended school.

Hinshaw, Nancy E., age 1, born in Indiana.

Sarah died 1874.2  

He then married Rachel Outland Mills2,5,7,8,19 [Rachel Outland7,8], Mar 30 18762,5,7,8,19, Winchester, Randolph County, Indiana2,5,7,8,19.  Rachel, daughter of Thomas Jordan Outland & Asenath Pritchard6,13,20,21,22, was born Sep 25 18416,13,20,21,22 [about 18444], Rich Square MM, Northampton County, North Carolina6,13,20,21,22.  

Rachel had been previously married to Nathan Mills (1837-1873), Aug 13 1863, Edgar County, Illinois,23 by whom she had a daughter, Flora Adel Mills, Dec 6 18714,6,13 (and also apparently a son, Cassius Mills, who probably died young).13

Flora Adel Mills, age 15, born in Illinois; came to Kansas from Indiana.
Clifford H. Hinshaw, age 8, born in Kansas; attended school 6 months.
Ina May Hinshaw, age 6, born in Kansas; attended school 6 months.
Lillie E Hinshaw, age 4, born in Kansas; attended school 2 months.
Harry Edward Hinshaw, age 1, born in Kansas.

Rachel died Jun 23 1886, Lebo, Coffey County, Kansas; buried Key West Cemetery, Lebo, Coffey County, Kansas.13  

He then married Susan Gump, Jun 6 1888, Coffey County, Kansas.24,25  

Apparently this marriage was short (it is unknown if Susan died or if they might have separated/divorced).  

Tilnias and son Harry were shown in the 1895 Kansas state census (Mar 1 1895), living in the household of son Nathan, Halstead, Harvey County, Kansas26

Tilnias was shown in the 1905 Kansas state census (Mar 1 1905), living with the family of a Christian & Elizabeth Herman in Halstead, Harvey County, Kansas11

Tilnias was shown in the 1910 census (Apr 20 1910), living in the household of son Clifford, Medford Township, Reno County, Kansas:12
