RICHMOND, Ind. - Hinshaw, Wanda F. (nee Allender), beloved wife of the late L. Donald Hinshaw; daughter of the late Charles and Blanche Allender; devoted mother of Jo (Donald) Smith and Steven (Sharon) Hinshaw; loving grandmother of Stephanie Hinshaw and Scott (Abby) Hinshaw; sister of the late Norma (Gene) Greene, passed away on June 13, 2011, at the age of 79. She was a past matron of Mount Healthy Chapter O.E.S. 365 and also served as their secretary for 10 years. She was a past high priestess of Bona Ct. 8 LOSNA and a past queen of Ishtar Temple 54 and Daughters of the Nile. She served as a national officer in Daughters of the Nile in 2002 and was their banker for eight years.
She was an officer in various P.T.A.'s, as her children attended school, served on the Rainbow Girls advisory board for nine years and helped with Girl Scouts as a leader. She volunteered at Mercy South Hospital for nine years and was a volunteer at Shriners Hospital for Children over 20 years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Ave., Mount Healthy. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Eastern Star services to be held at 12:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to either Shriners Hospitals for Children - Cincinnati, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH, 45229-3095; or to the American Diabetes Association, 4555 Lake Forest Dr., Suite 396, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
