James B. Maroney of 829 Woodland in Garland, formerly of Roxton, died at Memorial Hospital in Garland at 1:30 a.m. Friday.  Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Gary Regan.  Burial will be in Restland Cemetery at Roxton.  The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Mr. Maroney was born April 30, 1908, in Roxton, a son of John R. Maroney and Alice (Moore) Maroney.  He attended Roxton schools and married Miss Mildred Hinshaw of Roxton on May 1, 1937.  They moved to Garland from Nathis in 1967 and have lived there since.  He was a retired security guard for Collins Radio in Dallas.  He retired in 1973.  He was a member of the Methodist church in Garland.  Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Miss Jimmie Maroney of Garland; two brothers, Luther Maroney of Garland and Roy Maroney of Plano; one sister, Mrs. James Randolph of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews.

GARLAND -- Mildred Frances Hinshaw Maroney, 94, of Garland passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Doctor's Health Care Center in Garland.  

Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at Restland Cemetery in Roxton with Chuck Arron officiating.  

She was born Aug. 4, 1910, in Brookston, the daughter of Will Hinshaw and Ollie Thompson Hinshaw and was reared in the Roxton area.  She married Jim Bailey Maroney in May of 1937.  She attended East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce and taught for 29 years at Freeman Elementary School in Garland until her retirement in 1974.  She was an active member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Garland, formerly Saint Paul United Methodist.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bailey Maroney in 1977; three brothers, infant Everett Gaines and Walter Hinshaw; and sisters, Evelyn Hinshaw and Lavada McFatridge.  

Survivors include one daughter, Jimmie Frances Maroney of Garland; two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Walter "Isabel" Hinshaw of Garland, Mrs. Gaines "Margaret" Hinshaw of Roxton; nephews, Robert McFatridge of Tyler and DeWayne, Joel and Scott Hinshaw of Garland and several beloved cousins.
