PLEADS GUILTY
TO DESTROYING
DOOR; IS FINEDNELSONVILLE, Aug. 12 -- Mervin Henshaw pleaded guilty to a charge of malicious destruction of property in mayor's court last night. He was fined $25 and costs the fine being remitted on condition that he repair the damaged property.
According to the story told the police, when Henshaw went to his home on Jackson street one night this week he found that his wife had apparently locked him out. He used a two-by-four timber in breaking down the door. The affidavit for his arrest was filed by Jake Smith, his father-in-law.

Vide.Three charges of failure to provide for legitimate children were heard in courts of Athens county justices of the peace late Saturday and this morning.
Richard Burchfield, Chauncey, was assessed a fine of $10 and costs upon his pleading guilty to a charge of failure to provide for a minor child filed by his wife, Thelma Burchfield, in the court of Pearl W. Helwig, justice of the peace.
Burchfield's fine was suspended upon condition that he pay $15 a month for the support of the child and costs of the action. He agreed to pay the weekly amounts.
Mervin Henshaw, Nelsonville, pleaded guilty to a similar charge, filed by his wife, Beatrice Henshaw before Helwig. Henshaw was assessed the same fine of $10 and costs, and the fine was suspended on Henshaw's promise to pay $15 a month for the support of the child. He made the first payment.
Pete Hudnell, formerly of Athens is charged with failure to provide for a minor child in the court of C. H. Porter, justice of the peace. He was arrested in Canton by Harry Dalton, constable. Disposition of the case has not yet been made.
