She married Ernest C. Carey2,5 [Ernst Carey3], Nov 10 19202,5, Wayne County, Indiana2,5.  Ernest was born Apr 26 1892.2  

She then married Balfour Karr Johansen3,6 [Balfour Kerr Johansen7], Aug 15 19283,6.  Balfour, son of Hjalmer + Eliza Johansen, was born Oct 31 1899, Pennsylvania.6,7,8,9

On Sep 12 1918 Balfour Kerr Johansen, age 18, had registered for the World War I draft in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  He declared he was born October 31 1899, and was then residing at 2640 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh where he was employed as a clerk with the Crucible Steel Co.  He declared his nearest relative was Mrs. Eliza Johansen of the same address.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, blue eyes, light hair.7  

Thelma and Balfour were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 9 1930), 3430 Bates Street, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania:8

Johansen, Balfour K., head-of-household, age 30, born in Pennsylvania; father born in Norway; mother born in Pennsylvania; first married at age 28; rented home ($40.00 rent); radio in home; occupation: commercial[..unclear..], oil; not a war veteran.
Johansen, Thelma P., wife, age 29, born in Indiana; parents born in Indiana; first married at age 27; occupation: stenographer, steel co.

She then married Clarence Duke.3  

In 1942 Thelma was living in Williamsburg, Wayne County, Indiana.10
