Gene was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1964 as a Staff Seargent. He had served two European tours in Great Britain (Sculthorpe for 2nd). As a civilian he was an auto mechanic, armed security guard, and surveyor, among other jobs. He loved to fish and read Westerns ... especially L'Amour's.5
