He married Hannah Thomas, Oct 27 1862, Randolph County, Indiana.^c,140    (Mar 7 1863).⁴⁷    (also reported as Oct 30 1869,^205,144 which is incorrect).    Hannah, daughter of Eli + Martha Thomas, was born Nov - 1836, Ohio.^d,e,b,f    (Indiana).^g

At White River MM on 3-7-1863, Ira J. Hinshaw, Jericho meeting, was complained of for marrying contrary to discipline.⁴⁹    "4-4-1863 disowned".⁴⁹

Family folklore is that Ira fell in love with Hannah, who was a Methodist, and they married, resulting in Ira being disowned.^h
