Donald Melvin Hanshaw, 89, of Booneville passed away Monday, May 11, 2009, in Booneville. He was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Black Rock to Donald Thomas and Effie Ellen (Butler) Hanshaw.
Melvin was a retired watchmaker and jeweler and formerly co-owned a jewelry store in Booneville. He enjoyed hunting, metal detecting and dominos. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Booneville.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at First Assembly of God in Booneville with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Jo of the home; three daughters, Melba Jo Oswalt and her husband, Jerry of Booneville, Maude Ellen Giere and husband, Karl of Fort Worth, Texas, and Paula Louise Wagoner and husband, Alan of Booneville; one son, Jerry Don Hanshaw of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God or to the charity of the donorís choice.
