He married Cora May "Mamie" Frack3,8 [Cora M. Dichey1, May Dichey2], Jun 23 19173,8, Yamhill County Courthouse, Yamhill County, Oregon3,8. Cora, daughter of Charles Henry Michael Frack & Ada Belle Dilley, was born Jun 14 1892, Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma.3 (Kansas).1,2
Cora had been previously married, Jun 15 1910, to Ivan Earl Dickey,3 who died Nov 11 1916,3 by whom she had two children, William Earl Dickey and Roy Eldon Dickey.1,3 However these children were shown in the 1930 census using the Hinshaw name.2
On Sep 12 1918 Joseph Clay Hinshaw, age 36, registered for the World War I draft in Polk County, Oregon. He declared he was born August 5th 1882, and was then residing in Sheridan, Yamhill County, Oregon where he was a farmer. He declared his nearest relative was his wife, Cora May Hinshaw of Sheridan. He was recorded as tall, slender, grey eyes, brown hair.7
