Lois M. Henshaw
June 24, 1920 - July 16, 2003
BROWNSVILLE - Lois M. Henshaw of Brownsville died Wednesday at her home. She was 83.
She was born in Franklin County, Ohio, to Horace and Virginia (Stewart) Mann. She attended Grant Hospital School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio, for three years.
She worked as a public health nurse until joining the Navy. She was a lieutenant in the Navy Nurse Corps in Norfolk, Va. There she met her future husband.
On July 23, 1945, she married Royal Henshaw in Chicago. After leaving the Navy, they moved to Brownsville.
There they started a family and farmed for many years. She also worked in the dentist office of Dr. Vernon Worthen.
She enjoyed gardening, canning and socializing with her friends.
She is survived by daughters Suzanne Ross of Portland and Kristy Denman of Jacksonville; and sister Marian Noterman of Sarasota, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Robert Mann.
A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Fisher Funeral Home in Albany. Burial will follow at Willamette Memorial Park in Millersburg. The Rev. Robert Morrison will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Brownsville EMTs, in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 S.W. Washington, Albany, OR 97321.
