Gladys A. Henshaw Anthony 1919-2011
Gladys Anthony was born in 1919 in Lynn, MA. Mrs. Anthony was a true New England woman, independent and self-reliant. As a young woman she left home to serve during WWII as a yeoman 3rd class in the navy where she met her future husband, Wesley Anthony of Oklahoma City. In 1946, they moved to Long Beach and married. She lived in the same East Long Beach home for over 60 years where she enjoyed gardening and walking. After her husbands death in 1983 she traveled throughout the world with close friends. She passed away March 2, 2011. She is survived by her brother, Richard Henshaw of Danvers, MA and her sister, Clara Winsor of Hampton, NH. Mrs. Anthony will be interred beside her husband at Forest Lawn Long Beach. No services are planned. All who knew and loved her will miss her.
