Herschel Greenberry Hinshaw¹ [Hershel H. Hinshaw^8,9, Herschel Hinshaw¹⁰].

Born Apr 15 1896^{2,4,8,10,11,12} [Apr 15 1895¹³], Indiana^{2,4,8,10,11,12}.  

Herschel was a veteran of World War I.²  On Jun 5 1917 Herschell Hinshaw, age 22, registered for the World War I draft at New Castle, Henry County, Indiana.  He declared he was single, born April 15, 1895 at Lynn, Indiana, and he was then residing at R.R. 2, New Castle, Indiana, where he was employed as a farmer working for a Loring Welborn.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown hair, brown eyes.¹³  

He married Eva M. VanDemus⁸ [Eva VanDemis^1,5,14], Dec 31 1919⁸, Henry County, Indiana⁸.  Eva, daughter of Charles Van Demis & Margaret Burk^10,14,15, was born Sep 20 1904^10,14,15 [Sep 26 1901⁸], Jay County, Indiana^10,14,15.  

Herschel and Eva were shown in the 1920 census (Jan 1920), living with Eva's parents in New Castle, Henry County, Indiana:¹⁶

Herschel and Eva divorced.  Eva remarried to Albert Adams sometime before Christmas, 1959.¹⁵  

Herschel Greenberry Hinshaw died Jul 25 1962, buried Legion Hill South Mound Cemetery, New Castle, Henry County, Indiana.^1,10  

In 1976 Eva was living in/near Kennard, Henry County, Indiana.¹⁰  

Eva died Jan - 1976, buried Legion Hill South Mound Cemetery, New Castle, Henry County, Indiana.^1,10  Eva's second husband, Albert Adams, remarried and is buried in Kentucky.¹
