Marlene Cecil Hinshaw

Marlene Cecil Hinshaw, age 74 resident of Losantville, IN, was called home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2010 after battling a long illness.  She was a patient at Integrity Specialty Hospital, located at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN.  

She was born in Richmond, IN. a daughter of the late Loren and Helen Chapman Heath.  She had resided in East Central Indiana most of her life.  She was a homemaker, and loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was an active member of Union Chapel Congregational Christian Church in Parker City, Indiana, where she played the church organ.  She loved the Lord, and her family, and church family.  She made hats, gloves, and other clothing items for the under privileged.  She always had her heart and home open for those in need.  

Left to cherish her memory include her husband; Joe Hinshaw, whom she married May 8, 1953, four sons; Tony Hinshaw (wife, Pam) of Losantville, IN, Jay Hinshaw (wife, Sherry) of Losantville, IN, Larry Hinshaw of Daleville, IN, James Hinshaw of Muncie, IN, eight grandchildren; Chris Hinshaw (wife, Angela) of Indianapolis, Jenny Evans (Husband, Bud) of Muncie, IN, Ashley Hinshaw of Losantville, IN, Brandi Jessee (Husband, Jon) of Losantville, IN, Megan Pegg (Husband, Kyle) of Lynn, IN, Jason Hinshaw of Losantville, IN, Morgan Hinshaw of Yorktown, IN, Louise Castle (Husband, David) of Hagerstown, IN, nine great-grandchildren, she had nine brothers and sisters, living include: Joe Sommers of Portland, IN, Susie Springer of Muncie, IN, Barb Phillips of Washington State, Donnie Heath of Florida, Betty Blakely of Sidney, Ohio, Lucy Beaver of Indianapolis, IN, also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

She was preceded in death by: her parents, one son, Shawn Hinshaw, granddaughter, Jodi Woodroff, brother, Mike Burris, sister, Mary Lou Lande.  

Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Macer- Hall Funeral Home.  

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday July 9, 2010 with son Tony Hinshaw and Pastor Rich Collins officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Losantville, IN.  

Macer-Hall Funeral Directors: Sam Hall, Gary Hall, and Mike Ragan will conduct the service.

Joseph Paul "Joe" Hinshaw, age 79, resident of Losantville, IN, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at Henry County Hospital.  

He was born September 1, 1932 in New Castle, IN, a son of the late Hershell M. and Eva Van Demis Hinshaw.  

He served an enlistment with the United States Air Force and was retired from Dana Corporation after 30 years of service.  He had resided in New Castle and Losantville most of his life.  He was a member of the Losantville Volunteer Fire Department for many years and a member of the United Auto Workers Union.  He was very involved with his family's activities and loved sharing time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, and assisting the needy at Christmas time (especially children).  He was a former member of the Moose Lodge, and a long time member of the Union Chapel Congregational Christian Church in Parker City, IN.  He loved animals and enjoyed having pets.  He was also a sports enthusiast, and especially enjoyed Indiana University basketball and automobile racing.  Earlier in his life he was a race car driver at Mt. Lawn Speedway.  His greatest joy was being a husband, dad, and papaw.  

Left to cherish his loving memory include: four sons, Tony Hinshaw (wife-Pam) of Losantville, Jay Hinshaw (wife-Sherry) of Losantville, Larry Hinshaw of Losantville, and James Hinshaw of Muncie, IN; eight grandchildren: Chris Hinshaw (wife-Angka) of Indianapolis, Jenny Evans (husband-Bud) of Muncie, Ashley Hinshaw of Losantville, Brandi Jessee (husband-Jon) of Losantville, Morgan Hinshaw of Mt. Summit, IN, Megan Pegg (husband-Kyle) of Lynn, IN, Jason Hinshaw (fiancee-Jessica Speers) of Losantville, and Louise Castle (husband-David) of Hagerstown, IN; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings: Dorothy Ryan of New Castle, Carolyn Grimm (husband-Gary) of Mt. Summit, Harold Hinshaw of Mt. Summit, William Hinshaw of New Castle, Carl Hinshaw (wife-Vicki) of New Castle, and Gerald Hinshaw (wife-Gloria) of Mooreland; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlene Cecil Hinshaw, whom he married May 8, 1953 and she passed away July 5, 2010; one son, Shawn Hinshaw; one granddaughter, Jodi Woodruff; and siblings, Bess Hoy, Betty Dick, Charlie Hinshaw; Eula May Dick, Bob Hinshaw, Margaret Sweigart, and Dick Hinshaw.  

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home in New Castle.  Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home with his son, Tony Hinshaw, Pastor Rich Collins, and Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.  

Macer-Hall Funeral Directors Sam Hall, Gary Hall, and Mike Ragan are honored to conduct the services.
