She was born February 13, 1943 in Wilmington, Ohio, a daughter of the late Walter and Rena Black DeWitt.

She was a New Castle resident most of her life.  She was very involved with her family’s activities, and loved sharing time with family and friends.

She worked10-years for the New Castle Clinic in the Lab, and for several years for the Holly Hills Nursing Home.  She loved the residents at Holly Hill, and enjoyed spending time with them and sharing treats with them after work.  She loved animals, sewing, and working outdoors doing anything, especially yard work.  She always had her heart and home open for anyone in need, including animals.

Left to cherish her loving memory: her husband, Bill Hinshaw of New Castle, Indiana, whom she married on February 10, 1993; 3-daughters, Tina Taylor of New Castle, Indiana, Carol McGlothin (husband Dave) of Mooreland, Indiana, and Teresa Sorrell (husband Jeff) of New Castle, Indiana; 3-grandchildren, Josh Hiatt, Daniel McGlothin (wife Heather), and Brooke Riddle (husband Jason); 2-great-granddaughters, Destiny McGlothin and Miley Riddle; 6-sisters, Loujean Willis (husband John) of Knightstown, Indiana, Geneva Hopkins (husband Dennie) of Union City, Indiana, Beverly Sue Willburn of Knightstown, Indiana, Betty Jean DeWitt of Owington, Kentucky, Ruby Barnes of Salem, Indiana, and Bonnie Robertson of Kentucky; 2-brothers, Wayne DeWitt of Kentucky and Walter DeWitt of Kentucky; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; also, her granddog, Brewster and her dogs, which she cherished, Cody, Taner, Simson, and Corkie.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; 1-sister, Joyce Conley; 1-brother, Steve DeWitt; 1-son, Scott Hinshaw; and 1-daughter, Kelly Hinshaw.
