On Nov 4 1941 Edgar D. Hinshaw, born 1915, Kansas, enlisted at Los Angeles, California in the U.S. Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet.  He declared he had four years of college, single, without dependents, and was then employed as a linotype operator.  He was recorded as 67" tall, 137 lbs.6  

On Apr 16 1943 First Lieutenant Edgar D. Hinshaw, of a Light Bombardment group serving in North Africa / Italy, was reported taken as a prisoner of Germany.  On May 30 1945 he was reported liberated/repatriated.7  

He married Mae Heffner, Feb 22 1947, Winfield, Cowley County, Kansas.1  Mae was born Mar 12 1925.2,3,8  

Edgar Donald Hinshaw, M.D. died May 29 1989, Arkansas City, Cowley County, Arkansas; buried Parker Cemetery, Cowley County, Kansas.1,2,3  

Mae died Jan 7 1993, buried Parker Cemetery, Cowley County, Kansas.2,3
