On Jun 5 1917 Ruben Ferrell Henshaw, age 21, registered for the World War I draft in Madill, Marshall County, Oklahoma.  He declared he was born Dec 26 1895 in Creal Springs, Illinois, and that he was then residing near Madill, Oklahoma where he was single and self-employed in stock raising.  He was recorded as tall, slender, blue eyes, black hair.6  On the same day brother Earl also registered for the draft.6

Ruben Henshaw and Fred Carter left Wednesday for Oklahoma City to attend a meeting of the India Temple Shriners.
