He declared he was born March 13 1896 in Granger County, Tennessee, and he was then residing in Leas Spring, Tennessee where he was single and a self-employed farmer. He was recorded as medium height, stout, brown eyes, black hair. He signed the registration card with his 'X'.4
Henry served in World War I,10 PVT BTRY B, 115 FLD ART 30 DIV.8,11 Served from Sep 18 1917 to Nov 21 1919.9
He married Lillie E. Dixon.11,12 Lillie, daughter of Jacob C. + Martha G. Dixon, was born Feb 15 1905, Tennessee.7,8,11,12,13,14 Lillie was the sister of Laura M. Dixon who married Henry's brother Sherman.12

Lillie died Feb 12 1982, Knox County, Tennessee; age 76.7,8,11,12,15
Also buried in the same cemetery (but in a different plot) is an unidentified James H. Hinshaw (Aug 8 1919 - Aug 4 1984),8 who might have been a son or close relative.16
