On Sep 12 1918 James Oscar Henshaw, age 36, registered for the World War I draft in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee.  He declared he was born October 20, 1882 and then resided at 128 Burtrand, Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee, where he was employed as a "can oiler".  He declared his nearest relative was brother "Mr. Lonzo Brel Henshaw" of 1239 E. Main, Knoxville.  He was recorded as medium height, stout, brown eyes, brown hair.1
