Alice's natural father was not Hugh Baker Hinshaw, but her mother, Theressa Flomerfelt, married Hugh Baker Hinshaw and Alice was shown in the 1880 census as Alice Hinshaw,¹ so it seems that Alice was apparently adopted (even if informally) by Hugh Baker Hinshaw.

She married Leonard Buckland, about 1880.^2,3 Leonard was born May - 1840, New Jersey.^2,3
