ASHEBORO
Colbert Earl "Corky" Hinshaw, 82, of 311 Beasley St. died Friday, June 9, 1995, at his home.  Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Calvary United Methodist Church with the Rev. William G. Summey and the Rev. Lee Roy Hunt officiating and burial to follow in Randolph Memorial Park.  A native of Randolph County, Mr. Hinshaw was a member of Balfour Lodge 188, where he receive a 50 year pin, a member of Asheboro Shrine Club, was a licensed clock maker, was retired from Dixie Service, and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Rierson Hinshaw; son, Jimmy Hinshaw of Asheboro; daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Sharon) Triplett of Cartersville, Ga.; four grandchildren; sister, Golda Ruth H. Wilson of Asheboro and brother, Roosevelt Hinshaw, also of Asheboro.  Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, N.C.  27204.

Evelyn R. Hinshaw

ASHEBORO -- Evelyn Rierson Hinshaw, age 88, of 311 W. Beasley St., Asheboro, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.  

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at noon at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Fran Adams officiating.  Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.  

Mrs. Hinshaw was a native of Stokes County, a homemaker, a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the widow of Colbert "Corky" Hinshaw.  She loved music, playing her organ and fishing.  She was a good cook and made delicious chicken and dumplings.  Evelyn was an avid attendant of the Rierson Reunion in Stokes County and was a relative of the Riersons that ran The Pollirosa in Tobaccoville.  

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Rose Hinshaw of Asheboro; son, Jimmy Hinshaw and his wife, Jeanette, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Michael Wayne Yow of Alpharetta, Ga.; David Gregory Yow and his wife, Kristina, of Athol, Idaho; Pam Martin and her husband, Greg, of Cornelius; Todd Hinshaw and his wife, Elizabeth, of Wilmington; great-grandchildren, Callie Martin, Addison Martin, Will Hinshaw and Baby Hinshaw; sisters, Nina Hall of Asheboro and Rebecca McCorkle of Clearwater, Fla.  

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4994, Asheboro, N.C. 27204 or Hospice Of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, N.C. 27204-0009.  

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Randolph Hospital staff, Hospice, Dr. John Gage of Randolph Medical Associates, and her caregivers, Nettie Morris and Sandy Massie.
