1921-2008MARYVILLE, Mo. - George Asher Hinshaw, 86, of Maryville, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.
George was born in Wakeeney, Kan., on March 18, 1921. In 1956, his family moved to Maryville, where he began a 30-year career of teaching speech at Northwest Missouri State University. He was a debate coach for many years.
His Kiwanian service included fixing and selling popcorn at many of the college games. He was a regular Meals-On-Wheels driver and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by a son, Ren, Louisville, Ky.; daughter, Melody, Kansas City, Mo.; and grandson, Asher, Louisville.
The service will be at the First Presbyterian Church, Maryville, on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, Feb. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements are by Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
