EAST BEND - Mrs. Judith Mae Hinshaw Matthews, 78, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Yadkin County to the late Edgar Hinshaw and Ethel Taylor Hinshaw. Mrs. Matthews was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe "Bill" Matthews and three sisters, Margaret Tuttle, Dora Frances Hinshaw and Peggy Driver. Surviving are a son, David Matthews and daughter-in-law Brenda of Yadkinville; a daughter, Gail Taylor and son-in-law Darrell of East Bend; two sisters, Edith Lineberry and Blanche Williams of East Bend; four grandchildren, Scott and April Matthews and Zachary and Tatum Taylor; special niece, Rilla Williard of Kernersville; and three special friends, Mildred Brown, Ozell Dellinger and Kate Hutchens. The funeral service for Mrs. Matthews will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at Richmond Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Will Hamric officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, Oct. 30, at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend. Huff Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Matthews.
