Roy Richard 'Pork Chop' Carrier
Roy Richard 'Pork Chop' Carrier, 58, of Morganfield, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
He was a lifelong member of Morganfield First Baptist Church and was a teacher at the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Academy for 30 years. He was also a Master Mason, an Odd Fellows past Grand Master and a Gideon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Helen Carrier, who died in 1993; and a daughter, Florence Ruby Carrier, who died in 1991.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Donna Carrier of Morganfield; one son, Rick Carrier and his wife, Lee, of Henderson; three daughters, Renee Carrier of Nashville and Rachel Carrier and Rebekah Carrier, both of Morganfield; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. Pastor Tim Leadingham will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Morganfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Gideons International, Shriner's Children's Hospital through Rizpah Temple in Madisonville or the Morganfield First Baptist Church Building Fund.
