She married Bill Young⁴ [William C. Young⁵], about 1959⁴, Wisconsin⁴.  

Ann and Bill lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he worked as a reporter for WKZO-TV3 (now WWMT-TV3).  They were divorced a few years later.  No children from this marriage.⁴  

She then married Gary Wayne Maurina, 1965, Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.^1,4,6  

Gary worked as a staff member and later executive director of the Kent County, Michigan Republican Party until about 1976, when he became a legislative analyst for the House Republican Staff in Lansing, Michigan (while still living in Grand Rapids).⁴

In 1976-2003 Ann was living in Grand Rapids, Michigan.^4,6  

Ann Carole Hinshaw died Jun 24 2004, Holland Home Hospice Center, Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.¹

Ann Carole Maurina MAURINA - Ann Carole Maurina, 67, died at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Holland Home Hospice Center in Grand Rapids.  She was born on January 16, 1937, in Traverse City, the daughter of Ronald Michael and Ruby Irene Monroe Hinshaw.  She married Gary W. Maurina in 1965 in Grand Rapids.  She attended journalism school at Michigan State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids.  She had been a homemaker in her later years and previously worked in the art and music department of Aquinas College, several law offices, and the education department of Michigan State University.  She was a member of Mayfair Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids.  The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, at Mayfair Christian Reformed Church on 1736 Lyon St. N.E. in Grand Rapids with the Rev. Wilmer Witte and Rev. Todd Zuidema officiating.  Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 25, at Zaagman Memorial Chapel - North on 3111 Leonard St. N.E. in Grand Rapids.  Survivors include her husband; a son, Darrell Todd Maurina and his wife, Anne Boheon Maurina of Clovis, N.M.; two sisters, Ruth and her husband, William Himberg of Naples, Fla.; Janice Rinal of Interlochen; a brother, Thomas Hinshaw of Harbor Springs; her brother-in-law, Loren K. Maurina and his wife, Sharon; her aunt, Dora Wilson [sic: actually a relative of Gary Maurina]; a nephew and three cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Richard Rinal.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wildlife Rehab Center at 1504 Union N.E., Grand Rapids, Mich., 49503.  Zaagman Memorial Chapel North 3111 Leonard St. N.E.
