Born Aug 26 1917, Summit County, Ohio.^1,3,4,5  

He married - Bennett.⁶  -, daughter of Pat Bennett & Maggie Florence Kerr.⁶  

Virgil was a "survivor" when dealing with problems he encountered in life.  He was raised as an orphan, and suffered permanent injuries from a tragic mine accident while in his twenties; but he didn't allow them to keep him from progressing and living a full life.²  

In 1955 Virgil established the Hanshaw Insurance Business in Lewisburg, West Virginia.²  

Virgil Watson Hanshaw died Feb 22 1987, Greenbrier County, West Virginia; buried Hively Cemetery, Clay County, West Virginia.^1,4  Virgil died from familial amyloidosis, as did his father and brother.¹
